Skyline Engineering is the largest structural engineering firm in Victoria that is focused on providing engineering services for single-family residential projects. We provide structural engineering services for new construction and renovations to single-family homes throughout Southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Our engineers have extensive commercial seismic design experience, which we draw on to accommodate project designs that do not conform to BCBC 2012 Part 9 restrictions. We have used this approach to successfully deliver single family home projects throughout Victoria while maintaining construction details that are both conventional and cost effective. We will draw upon all of our relevant experience to help ensure the project is successfully delivered to the Owner.

SIPS, ICF, and Passive Houses

Skyline Engineering has recently completed several small residential houses utilizing the design ideals for Passive House construction. These projects utilize special wall and foundation systems to develop continuous insulated envelope for the building. This approach helps to achieve energy conservation through efficiency in thermal losses as well as solar gains. Skyline worked closely with the various project design teams to develop efficient and economic details.

We are involved with the following additional projects at varying levels of design and construction that include passive house ideals and design details:

  • 235 Montreal Street
  • 308 Coal Point Lane
  • 2670 Herbate Road
  • 986 Cowichan Street
  • 1068 Chamberlain Street
  • 2665 Belmont Avenue
